Virtual Therapy
Therapy from the comfort of your own home. Telehealth is an accessible way to get the support you need. Depending on your personal needs, lifestyle or work schedule, online counseling may be a more convenient option for you. Perhaps you’re a stay at home parent, do not have transportation, are disabled, are home in quarantine, are limited for time or feel coming in person is too intimidating at this time. Telehealth gives you the option to engage in therapy at a time that is convenient for you.
Anxiety Therapy
We can help you understand and navigate your anxiety. Your excessive and obsessive worry. The sleepless nights and frantic days. The overwhelming thoughts of everything you could have done better and didn’t do at all. The anxiety which prevents you from making major life decisions, spending time with family and friends and ultimately, spending quality time with you. Sometimes anxiety can cause you to become your own worst enemy. Being inside of your head feels like you are running with no end in sight. This isn’t your fault and there is a way out. Self Esteem
Thinking poorly of yourself? Looking in the mirror and wishing you looked like or could just be someone else? Or maybe you find yourself overwhelmed by negative thoughts. Maybe these negative thoughts are keeping you from feeling fulfilled and happy. You’re not alone and it isn’t your fault. You are not defective. We have been conditioned by society, the media, our friends and family to adapt false ideals of inner worth, beauty and success. Our inner teachings are those in which we are not to “take the risk.” We are taught to remain small and that “you can like yourself- but not too much.” We will help you grow your relationship with yourself and practice loving kindness toward yourself. To be patient and inquisitive about these automatic negative thoughts. To ponder how they came about, how we can honor where they came from and how to move forward. To no longer judge yourself for having the thought, but rather, to break free of the thought and re-connect with your highest, truest self.
Depression Therapy
Depression is more than just feeling sad. So many of us feel this way and so many of us are silenced by society and the medias idea of how we should feel and who we should be. Perhaps you are depressed and nobody can tell. You may ask yourself “why doesn’t anyone notice? Do they even care?” You may feel invalidated, lonely, invisible, hopeless and with lack of motivation— lack of enjoyment in just about anything. It sometimes feels comfortable and familiar to be depressed. It does not have to be this way. We want to help you understand how this begun and motivate you to spark change. To become the you who you deserve to be.
Neuro Emotional Technique
I specialize in a mind-body technique called Neuro Emotional Technique (NET). This is a holistic and alternative mind-body technique which aims to get to the root of emotional pain, trauma and stress. NET is really unique in that you are able to use your own body as a mechanism to support and help guide your treatment. Sometimes we may not be able to consciously put together what is happening, but our body is our best guide in telling us what is happening and what we need to return to baseline. This mind-body modality encompasses and engages all aspects of each individual and is really able to provide phenomenal results. When doing NET with me, you can expect the negative charge associated with difficult feelings or trauma to minimize and to return to baseline, so that you can live your life to its absolute fullest. You can expect to feel more “okay” with things you were not previously. For the negative “charge” to begin to diminish. I work with LGBTQIA+ individual’s on topics such as: coming out, conflict with family and friends, acceptance, sexuality, gender dysphoria, gender identity, internalized homophobia, cultural issues, self-esteem, shame, intimacy, trauma, addiction, anxiety and depression.
Individuals in Recovery from Substance Abuse Addiction
Addictions affect a person’s mind, body and spirit through a devastating cycle. Oftentimes jobs are lost, life goals are put on hold and relationships are sabotaged or destroyed. Attempts to control the addiction through willpower, even if successful in the short-term, eventually fail as willpower becomes undermined by the forces which feed and sustain the addiction. I work with my clients and have great success in repairing the relationship with self as well as minimizing guilt, shame, anxiety, sadness, depression, hopelessness and despair.
Adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder/Neurodiverse Individuals
The aim of therapy for neurodiverse individuals is to: build social skills, increase flexibility in social situations, aid in developing a greater understanding of one’s own unique qualities and strengths, create skills for coping with sensory burnout, reduce self-doubt and self-criticism, develop anger management skills as well as to increase social success and emotional regulation.
