Frequently asked questions.

What is Therapy exactly? What is Holistic Therapy?

I like to think of therapy in general as an opportunity to return to yourself; to reconnect with the highest, most authentic version of yourself. Many people think therapy is only important for the difficult times in life but it can be extremely useful during happy and positive times as well. Therapy offers a unique perspective and ongoing support. I will challenge you and help support you as you navigate and push through difficult times and embark on new and exciting times. I love the saying, “the only way out is through” and therapy is a great opportunity for someone to help you find your way through. Metaphorically, to hold the light next to you and walk with you as you guide yourself down a path where it is hard to see.

I like to operate through a very holistic lens and feel each person is their own biggest healer and within them lies everything they need. Oftentimes our bodies attempt to signal to us something isn’t right when we have physiological issues such as headaches, upset stomachs, racing heart, dizziness, trouble sleeping, etc. I like to observe the role that our physical and spiritual health play into our mental health. Are we feeling disconnected from others and reality? Do we struggle to concentrate? To observe the story your body is attempting to tell you and provide you with realistic and practical ways to heal.

How long does therapy need to last?

We get this question often and the answer always varies. Therapy is something that is so individualized and unique to you. In an initial session we will typically have a discussion regarding timeframes of when you would like to achieve your goals and together, we can set realistic and measurable goals so you are always feeling like you are getting the most of our time together.

What are your fees?

$160 per 50-minute session.

Do you take insurance?

At this time, I do not take insurance. I am an out of network provider and do not directly bill and/or accept insurance. Depending on your current health insurance provider you may be eligible for out of network benefits.

Insurers require that you be diagnosed and I find it’s not always necessary or helpful to put a mental health diagnostic “label” on you. In order to use your insurance, a provider must diagnose you and that mental health diagnosis becomes part of your permanent medical record. If an insurance provider is involved, they will be the ones who dictate what you need, how many therapy sessions you get, and what treatment is prescribed. I find it is much more helpful to have control of your treatment and to dictate this with your provider directly.

You may still decide that you’d like to seek reimbursement from your insurance provider for out of network care. I am not able to coordinate this for you, but do encourage you to consult directly with your insurer to see if this may be an option for you. I am able to provide a superbill (which looks like an itemized receipt that will have a mental health diagnosis listed on it) for you to submit directly to your insurance company. If you do choose to use your out-of-network benefits you will pay the full session fee out of pocket and I will provide you with a superbill form that you can then provide directly to your insurance for reimbursement. The amount that your insurance may pay for your session will depend on your individual plan.

How do I pay?

I use a secure platform called IvyPay. I am able to send invitations securely through the app directly to your cellphone, where you will be given a link to upload your card information through there. IvyPay accepts all major credit or debit cards. You will receive a text receipt each time the card is ran that you can keep for your records. When meeting in person, we also accept cash.

Is there a cancellation policy?

Yes. We do have a cancellation policy which requires 24 hours notice if you will be unable to make your appointment. Failure to give adequate notice and/or no showing to your appointment does result in a charge for the full session fee.
